What personal data we collect

We collect the personal data we need to open your account, keep it safe and meet the duties that apply to a licensed gambling operator. Some of it you give us directly when you register, deposit or contact us. The rest is created as you use the site.

Account details

  • Your name, date of birth, residential address, e-mail address and mobile number.
  • The username, password and security details you set, held in a protected form.
  • The preferences you choose, including marketing choices, deposit limits and time-out settings.
  • Messages you send us by e-mail or live chat, and the replies we send you.

Identity documents and verification results

We hold a gaming licence and are required to confirm that every customer is 18 or over and is who they say they are. To do this we ask for documents such as photo identification, proof of address and proof of the payment method you use. We also receive the outcome of checks carried out for us by identity-verification and fraud-prevention partners, which may include confirmation that your details match public and credit reference records.

Transactions and account activity

We keep records of deposits, withdrawals, bonuses, wagers, wins and losses, together with the payment method used and the time of each transaction. We also record the limits you set, and any period during which your account is closed, timed out or self-excluded.

Device and usage data

When you visit the site we collect your IP address, the approximate location it indicates, your device type, operating system, browser and language setting, and the pages and games you open. Some of this is collected through cookies and similar technologies.

Why we use your personal data

We use your personal data for the purposes set out below, and for nothing that is incompatible with them.

  1. To open and run your account, process deposits and withdrawals, apply bonuses and pay out winnings.
  2. To check your age and identity before you play and before we release a withdrawal.
  3. To prevent and detect fraud, collusion, bonus abuse and money laundering, and to keep play fair for everyone.
  4. To meet our legal and regulatory duties, including record-keeping and reporting obligations.
  5. To monitor play for signs of gambling harm and to apply the limits, time-outs and self-exclusions you or we put in place.
  6. To answer your questions, handle complaints and keep a record of what was discussed and agreed.
  7. To send offers, bonuses and site news where you have asked to receive them, and to choose which of them to show you.
  8. To keep the site secure, fix faults and understand how the site is used so that we can improve it.

Who we share your data with

We share personal data only where it is needed for the purposes above, and only with organisations that are bound to keep it confidential and to use it on our instructions.

  • Payment providers and banks, so that deposits, withdrawals and refunds can be processed.
  • Identity-verification and fraud-prevention partners, who confirm your details and flag suspicious activity.
  • Game and platform suppliers, who need limited account data to run the games and your session.
  • Technology, hosting and customer-service providers who support the site on our behalf.
  • Regulators, law enforcement, courts and tax authorities, where the law or the conditions of our licence require disclosure.
  • Professional advisers and auditors, where they need the data to advise us or to check that we are meeting our duties.

If your data is transferred outside the United Kingdom, we put appropriate safeguards in place so that it keeps the protection UK law gives it, using the transfer mechanisms that the law recognises.

How long we keep your data

We keep your personal data for as long as your account is open, and afterwards for the period that the law and the conditions of our gaming licence require. We do not set out exact periods here because they differ by record type and can change when the rules change.

  • Account, transaction and verification records are retained for the period required of a licensed operator after your last activity.
  • Records of self-exclusion are kept for at least the length of the exclusion and the period the rules require afterwards.
  • Complaint records are kept so that we can show how a matter was looked into and settled.
  • Marketing preferences, including opt-outs, are kept so that we can honour your choice.

When data is no longer needed, we delete it securely or make it anonymous so that it can no longer be linked to you.

Your rights, cookies and how to contact us

You hold the following rights over the personal data we hold about you:

  • Access - to be told what data we hold and to receive a copy of it.
  • Correction - to have inaccurate or incomplete details put right.
  • Erasure - to ask us to delete data we no longer have a reason to keep.
  • Restriction and objection - to ask us to pause our use of your data or to stop relying on legitimate interests.
  • Portability - to receive certain data in a commonly used electronic format.
  • Withdrawing consent - to stop marketing messages and non-essential cookies at any time.

To use any of these rights, write to support@casinomagicalvegas.co.uk or speak to us on live chat. Please use the e-mail address registered to your account so that we can identify you; we may ask for further confirmation of identity before we act. We respond within the time limit set by UK data protection law. Some rights are limited: we cannot delete records we are legally required to keep, and we cannot stop checks that the law requires us to carry out.

If you are not satisfied with how we have handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office, the United Kingdom's data protection authority. We would ask you to raise the matter with us first so that we have a chance to put it right.
